The day will be run in conjunction with the Royal Society of Chemistry Secondary and Further Education Group. The Group will be inviting School Teachers, University Lecturers, Outreach Consultants, School and University Technicians and any others with an interest in practical chemistry designed for educational purposes.

Much of the development work in practical chemistry is carried out by University and School Technicians, yet it often not recognised, certainly in schools, by senior leadership teams. So a well as contributions by educators on this day, technicians will be encourage to show case the influence of microelectronic applications (eg, Arduino), inexpensive yet really reliable colorimeters, chromatographic techniques and even the wonderful indicator art (see the logo).
